The New Luddites
Most people know the term Luddite to mean someone that is backwards, rejecting technology because they fear change and things that are new. This definition has served the tech elite since its inception, presenting all technology as progress and something inevitable. The reality of the original movement was far from a backwards reaction, but instead laborers reacting to a hostile and illegal disruption of their industry. Modern Luddites have been around since at least the 1990s. Here is a good introduction
